The Sound of Music November 30 - December 3, 2005, brought something very special to westman audiences. Mecca’s 4th production, directed by Craig Russell, played to sold-out audiences. With a nuns’ chorus of over 40, the show featured Lisa Vasconcelos as Maria and James Comrie as Captain Von Trapp, reprising roles they had first performed in the Strathclair Drama Club’s 1996 version, Bernadette Njegovan’s memorable performance as Mother Abbess impressed and inspired audiences. Katherine Sherris and James Warnez led the supporting cast of 14 amazing young performers who formed two separate casts of Von Trapp children.
