The performers and production team involved in our season of musicals and theatre share their knowledge and skills in our after-school classes and adult programs. Mecca is proud to have such experienced, caring and talented instructors as members of our faculty. Now beginning our 11th year of after school classes, Mecca Productions provides a nurturing environment in which to learn, grow, and develop a love of the performing and theatre arts. Whether you’re 2 or 102, it’s never to late to step into the spotlight!
Whether you’re already taking a dance class or are involved in your school choir and want to develop skills to help you step onto centre stage (in Mecca Musicals or a high school production) we have a place for you! You’ll develop skills and training to take you far beyond Brandon. Our Performance Troupe is a wonderful compliment to a dance program/class. Mecca folks have appeared in community musicals around westman, on Rainbow Stage and other professional productions and even more have graduated and have moved on to study musical theatre, music, voice or theatre at the post-secondary level. For youth (gr 2+) who just love to perform, you’ll get lots of opportunity to sing, dance, create and have fun in our Performance Troupe. Even if you’ve always wanted to just learn to sing... come grow with us!
Our children’s classes begin at toddlers and continue right up to teens! Classes offered: Combo Classes sing and dance and perform on stage at the end of each term) in 4 age levels: pre-primary (ages 3 & 4), Primary (pre-school - gr 2), Junior (gr 3-5) and Senior (gr 6-8); Drama & Improv (no singing, no dancing - just acting! Skills are explored and developed through games, monologues and script work; and Mecca’s Performance Troupe.
