Have fun, make great music with wonderful people!
A choir program created with the adult singer in mind, join us Wednesday evenings from 7:15-8:45 and amaze yourself with the power of song. No experience is necessary to become a member of this fun and dynamic ensemble. This is the place to be if you’ve always wanted to be in a choir! It’s also a wonderful place to develop your choral skills as you’ll be surrounded by experienced choristers. You can expect to laugh, learn and make great music together each week!
For the past six years, Mecca has brought a one-of-a-kind experience to performers and audiences: our multi-generational choir! Both terms wrap up with a ‘mass’ number, featuring over 100 performers from ages 6-76! What a moment!
But the Mecca Community Choir brings its own special magic to each concert, for as much as seeing the ‘little ones’ perform, the Mecca Community Choir models what a life-long love of choral music and sharing that music with an appreciative audience looks like!
Our first term will focus on Christmas music with our term one wrap up performance in the second half of the Mecca Family Christmas Concert.
Jazz standards, contemporary secular selections, beautiful classics and a Broadway hit or or two will form the foundation of our work in term two. We’ll prepare for our Mecca in the Parks Concert (mid-May).
NEW FOR SPRING 2012: Optional participation in Mecca’s Annual Spring Celebration of the Best of Broadway and Beyond: On Broadway Concert7 (March 17, 2013.)
A fee of $65.00/term is collected from choir members and is used for the director’s and accompanists’ honourariums, music & supplies.
